In 2020, we’ve all experienced crazy changes in our lives. This year was full of surprises and challenges, and families and business owners have had to adapt to these changes. Skinimalism
“Skinimalism,” also known as “skip-care,” is expected to dominate 2021. Especially due to the nationwide lockdown, many people’s relationship with makeup shifted as they chose to prioritize skincare. Even though there is definitely a rise on social media, it’s still rare to see men wearing makeup out in public. South Korean men have actually led the world’s male beauty market, which comes to no surprise. Local young men in Korea are deeply inspired by K-Pop, emulating the look of famous Korean idols. Return of Color
In the late summer and early fall, we predict the return of color in beauty. For the majority of quarantine, people have been wearing less makeup, focusing on more natural makeup looks. However, now that the vaccine is out, and hopefully if the virus dies down by the end of this year, more people will be going out and experimenting more with makeup. For this reason, we believe that people are going to continue their natural makeup looks, but with a bold touch. For instance, maybe a bold lip color or a bold eye shadow.
In addition, we think that people will start wearing bolder nail colors. Recently, we’ve seen a lot of neutral colored nails, but we think this will change in the fall.
As for hair, we think that people will want to maintain natural hair colors, but make their hair colors lighter completely or with highlights. We also think that people won’t want a hair color that they would have to constantly maintain, which would be difficult during COVID-19. A natural hair look like the following is what we believe will be super trendy and comfortable in the fall of 2021!
